this live mix was recorded shortly before the wider adoption of "dubstep", and represents a sampling of musical artists from around the world (south africa, u.k., germany, u.s., netherlands, etc) crossing into new territory and rethinking some unusual classics.

includes santogold, kraak & smaak, tito puente, kraddy, and more...

"Schaffelklatsch" was recorded live on new year's eve to kick off 2005, and in this example dj addambombb set the definition of a previously unheard style. Triplets abound in this smoothly mixed crossover set featuring elements of electro / electronica, industrial / gothic, synthpop, & 80's from around the globe. This became the hot sound at Haven, which was the biggest (and most imitated) independent weekly dance party in New England at the time, and many of these tracks have become the most requested hits at the Salem Vampire's Masquerade Ball. Since this release, the triplet beat has infiltrated pop music and become a standard.

Black.Heart.Disco.Star is a theme park roller coaster ride through elation and longing that drags your heart - and grinds your face - along the rails while you scream and sing along!

B.H.D.S. was mixed live on Denon cdj 2600s in April 2009 with an emphasis on Really Good Songs.

sometimes when i'm working on stuff and listening to music i'll get an idea and hop on the decks and mix a few cuts together.

i call it "doing my homework", lol.

in this case, i was packing up boxes for a move, and had a couple of weird ideas - everything was hooked up, so i hit "record", and started playing.

i stopped when the phone rang a little while later, busybusiness.

i'm most proud of the mix from "nobody's in love" to "english summer rain", that's a weird little hi-hat loop to catch and i'm enthralled by the way the tracks fall apart together when i let the loop out.

i think it's cool that School of Seven Bells gets their name from a pickpocketing academy - that Nick Rhodes (and Steven Duffy) from Duran Duran formed the Devils to record pre-simon D2 songs, and Tiga's remix makes it so much better.

oh, and thank goodness for that Doobie Brothers remix, i've been looking for this (? or something like it) since i heard Uberzone and the Bassbin Twins drop a Black Water remix at Sinister Skies (on devils night, 2008, so that's three years of WANT).
